This Vegan Gravy is made with pantry ingredients and cooks in five minutes. It’s smooth, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Perfect addition to your holiday meals.

Holidays will be here before we know it, and I am working on creating classic Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes vegan style. I already mastered my mashed potatoes, now it’s time for gravy!
This gravy is full of flavor, creamy, and the perfect sauce to serve on your holiday table.
Ingredients:
- vegetable stock
- flour: I used all-purpose flour
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- thyme: I used fresh, but dried works too
- nutritional yeast
- soy sauce: I used low-sodium
- seasoning: salt and pepper
How to make vegan gravy?
- Mix all ingredients in a large pot.
- Place pot on the stove over medium heat.
- Stir when bubbles are visible until the sauce becomes thicker.
- Let cool to thicken further.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.
Storing:
Place any leftovers in a container with lid in the fridge for up to 4 days.
What to serve with vegan gravy:
This gravy is perfect not only on mashed potatoes but also with roasted vegetables, vegan meatloaf, tofu, or whole roasted cauliflower head.

Vegan Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 cups vegetable stock
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsps onion powder
- 2 tsps garlic powder
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1 1/2 tbsps nutritional yeast
- 3 tsps soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, whisk all ingredients together until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat until bubbles.
- Lower the heat to medium-low, and simmer until sauce thickens.
- Let cool to further thicken the sauce.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.
- Enjoy.
